The ATF Pro Awards
On the 9th of November, 2023, we attended the ATF Pro Awards, held at the British Car Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire. It was the culmination of a month of excitement, as we were finalists in not one, but four categories.
Could this be a night of celebration for Reclamet Limited?
As a reminder, the four categories we competed for were:
- Vehicle Recycling Company (Medium) Award
- Recycled Vehicle Parts Supplier Award
- Recycled Vehicle Parts User Award
- Solution / Innovation Award
The day began at work, and then after a 3+ hour journey from Birchington, witnessing (but failing to capture fully) a fantastic double rainbow on the way, we arrived with plenty of time to network and enjoy the surroundings.
The event was brilliantly organized, and the venue at the British Car Museum provided a perfect setting. We took loads of photos, as it was a great walk through the history of the British car industry and a reminder that some great cars are still being produced. But also, sadly, some classics have since disappeared.
Did You Know? The British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire, has the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, with over 300 vehicles on display from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust and the Jaguar Heritage Trust.
After a few canapes, it was time for the main event.
The ATF Pro Awards event was established to showcase the importance of vehicle recycling in the 21st century and to acknowledge good practices and innovations in the industry. The awards evening brings the industry together to recognize its progress and achievements.
After a delicious meal and plenty to drink, it was time for the awards announcements. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for us, but huge congratulations to the winners, who spanned the whole of the UK. They were all worthy winners.
We weren’t that lucky and didn’t win an award, but it was a fantastic experience and exciting just being there. We were finalists in four awards, with our name in lights!
The overriding feeling for us was pride- pride in being there as finalists, pride in being recognized for our progress, and pride in the fact that this thriving industry looks to support and reward those within it.
Not only that, but this was the first time we’d entered anything. So everything was an unknown, and we’d perhaps underplayed our achievements in our entries. Next year, we hope, will be very different, and we’re upping our game!
