Reclamet has been shortlisted for the ‘Sustainability & Decarbonisation Business of the Year Award’.

We are thrilled to announce that Reclamet Limited has been shortlisted for the ‘Sustainability & Decarbonisation Business of the Year Award’ at the prestigious Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2024. Being recognised in this category highlights our commitment to sustainability and our efforts to drive positive environmental impact through vehicle recycling.

Our nomination benefits the entire vehicle recycling sector, not simply Reclamet. This sector plays a crucial role in helping to reduce waste and minimise the carbon footprint of vehicle production and disposal. By focusing on reuse and recycling, we are working towards a more sustainable future—making it easy to reduce, reuse, and recycle. The Vehicle Recyclers’ Association recently released an influential report titled “Carbon Emission Savings from Green Reclaimed Vehicle Parts.”

According to this report, the UK vehicle recycling sector alone is contributing to carbon emission savings of up to 3 billion kilograms per year. To put this into perspective, this is equivalent to the emissions saved from manufacturing 240,000 brand new cars annually. Across the EU, the impact is even more significant, with potential savings reaching over 7 billion kg of CO₂ emissions.

This recognition strengthens our resolve to keep pushing forward. As an industry, we can accomplish even more by collaborating, learning, and setting higher standards for sustainable practices. We look forward to celebrating this achievement at the awards ceremony, which will be held on November 21st at the historic Westenhanger Castle in Hythe.

We had a fun night at the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce Business Awards on Thursday 21^st November 2024. We were proud to be recognised as a finalist in the Sustainability and Decarbonisation Award alongside two fantastic businesses.

Congratulations to the winner of the award, Walker Construction UK Ltd and fellow finalist Zircon AC Group. Being a finalist is another step forward for us and the vehicle recycling industry, who are collectively working hard to drive positive environmental impact through vehicle recycling.
