Supporting the Thanet Disabled Riding Centre: A Community Effort
This morning, June 19, 2024, we had the pleasure of visiting the Thanet Disabled Riding Centre to present a cheque for £250 as part of our recent charity giveaway initiative on Facebook. The experience was both enlightening and heartwarming.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming environment, a testament to the dedication and passion of those who run the centre. Although we initially knew little about the facility, we were quickly impressed by its well-organised setup and the positive atmosphere. We had the opportunity to see the centre in action, witnessing firsthand the joy and therapeutic benefits that riding brings to its participants.
The Thanet Disabled Riding Centre is more than just a riding facility; it’s a vital resource for the community. It offers individuals with disabilities the chance to engage in therapeutic riding, which has been shown to improve physical, emotional, and social well-being. The centre’s staff and volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that each rider has a safe and enjoyable experience.
During our visit, we learned about the extensive efforts involved in maintaining the centre. From caring for the horses to managing the facility and organising sessions, the team’s dedication is truly commendable, highlighting the incredible impact it has on the community. It truly is a hidden gem in Thanet.
